Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Cods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Immortal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Cods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Immortal!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Cods looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Immortal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Immortal jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cods is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cods and Immortal has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Immortal thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cods is trying to control Immortal's posture but Immortal avoids it.

Immortal working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Immortal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Immortal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Immortal wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cods, who protects the arm well.

Immortal thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Immortal is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cods has escaped the position, nice work there.
Immortal advances to mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Immortal with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Cods is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cods wants to hold on but Immortal pushes him away.

Immortal wants to finish this one by submission but Cods is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Immortal.

Immortal goes for an armbar but Cods turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Cods.

Cods sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Immortal's guard.
Immortal is refusing to be controlled, as Cods sits in half guard.
Cods will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cods throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Immortal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cods trying to control the action but Immortal is working from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cods seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Immortal looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Immortal uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cods.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cods scores with a hook to the body. Immortal takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cods lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Immortal sprawling to the canvas. Cods follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Immortal hang on?


It looks like Matt Immortal has been cut.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cods drops Immortal with a big left hand and mounts him. Immortal is in big trouble!
Cods tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Immortal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cods can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cods has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Cods wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Immortal tries to keep at a distance but Cods has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cods digs a right hand underneath Immortal's ribcage. Immortal let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cods is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Immortal jumps guard but Cods stands there with Immortal around his waist. Immortal gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cods's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Immortal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cods circles away.
Cods dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Immortal. That did some damage!
Immortal takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Immortal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cods as he jumps to the side.
Jack Cods has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Immortal.

Matt Immortal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Immortal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cods as he avoids it easily.

Cods closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Immortal blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cods is trying to maintain a safe position but Immortal gets an underhook and turns Cods into the cage.
Immortal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cods just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cods tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Cods lands an elbow inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cods.
Immortal jumps guard but Cods stands there with Immortal around his waist. Immortal gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Immortal blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cods tries to land a knee to the head but Immortal blocks with his arms.
Cods is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Immortal can do to turn this around?
Cods is looking to break free of the clinch but Immortal has double underhooks.

Cods misses with a knee strike.
Immortal tries to pull guard but Cods won't allow it.
Immortal fails to pull guard.

Immortal is looking for a triangle but Cods pushes his legs off easily.

Immortal is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Immortal working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cods has passed into half guard!
Jack Cods is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Cods's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cods is taking a breather. Immortal says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Cods has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
