PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Killer (ranked 21318 p4p, 3632 weight class) and Howard Stern (ranked 692 p4p, 453 weight class). Stern has chosen The Great American Nightmare as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Killer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 40 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howard Stern!

Stern felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Killer's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Killer has his foot on Stern's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stern works his way back into a safe position though.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Stern in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Well Stern has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
