Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Flynn (ranked 1235 p4p, 1717 weight class) and Joao Apolinario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shane Flynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joao Apolinario!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.

Apolinario shoots in but no luck this time.

Apolinario looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Flynn is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Apolinario has escaped the position, nice work there.
Flynn trying to control the position but Apolinario is working away.
Apolinario prevents Flynn from improving position.
Apolinario is looking for a sweep.
Flynn advances nicely into full mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flynn fails to take his opponent's back.
Apolinario is trying desperately to improve position.

Flynn jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Apolinario is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Apolinario and Flynn has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Apolinario tries to bench press Flynn off him but Flynn keeps the position.
Flynn is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Apolinario will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Apolinario is looking to regain half guard here but Flynn keeps moving and retains side control.
Apolinario can't do much from the bottom here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Apolinario is looking to reverse the position.
Flynn advances to mount.
Apolinario is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Apolinario is controlling an arm, preventing Flynn from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Flynn trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Flynn prevents Apolinario from getting the reversal.
Flynn looking to control but Apolinario is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Flynn is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Apolinario is in real trouble.

Apolinario tries to break free.

Flynn looking for the choke but no joy.
Flynn is hanging on to Apolinario's back as he tries to escape.
Apolinario staying busy and making it hard for Flynn to control.
You can see the frustration on Apolinario's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flynn is looking to control Apolinario but Apolinario is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Flynn has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Apolinario's body.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Flynn looking to break Apolinario's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Apolinario remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Flynn will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Flynn is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Apolinario has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Flynn dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Apolinario shoots in but Flynn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Flynn throwing a counter right hand but Apolinario manages to avoid it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Apolinario enables Flynn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Apolinario manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Flynn is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Apolinario has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Flynn is looking to defend but Apolinario has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Flynn! Apolinario pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Flynn taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Joao Apolinario!
