Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Souza (ranked 2061 p4p, 372 weight class) and Jarna Kuiva (ranked 276 p4p, 56 weight class). Jarna Kuiva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ronaldo Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jarna Kuiva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.

Kuiva lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Souza darts in trying to clinch
and Souza takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Souza takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kuiva tests Souza's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Souza misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kuiva.
Kuiva let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Souza fails with the takedown
and Kuiva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Souza thinking.
Kuiva ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

and Kuiva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kuiva swings for the body but Souza moves out of range.

Kuiva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Souza moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kuiva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Souza manages to avoid it.
Souza looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kuiva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
No luck for Souza with that takedown attempt.

Souza fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kuiva manages to avoid it.
Kuiva takes a swing at Souza's ribcage but misses.
Souza has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kuiva finds it's way round the side to connect with Souza's head.
Souza uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kuiva.
Jarna Kuiva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Kuiva counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Souza takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Souza walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kuiva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kuiva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Souza looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kuiva lands a glancing blow to the side of Souza's head.
Kuiva jabs Souza to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Souza looks to throw a body kick
and Kuiva counters with a nice body shot.
Kuiva is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Souza rather than just go for the knockout.
Souza fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kuiva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Souza.
Souza throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Souza finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Despite the aggression on Kuiva's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

and Kuiva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kuiva throws a hook but Souza blocks it.
Kuiva lands a jab-cross combination.
A shot to the liver by Kuiva. Beautiful body shot.
Kuiva looks to throw the jab but Souza is out of range.
Souza attempts a counter takedown but Kuiva avoids it well and moves away.
Kuiva misses with an uppercut.
Kuiva is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Souza had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Kuiva lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Souza at a distance.
A lazy body kick from Souza
and Kuiva counters with a nice body shot.
The crowd cheers as Kuiva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Souza doesn't seem phased though.
Kuiva lands a left and a right that send Souza crashing to the mat, dazed. Kuiva thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Souza is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Souza misses the body punch
and Kuiva counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Souza badly! He tries to strike back but Kuiva puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Souza out cold! Oh man, Souza will never hear the end of this one!
