Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Akerfeldt (ranked 1375 p4p, 1206 weight class) and Choctaw Bloode (ranked 190 p4p, 166 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bjorn Akerfeldt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Choctaw Bloode!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akerfeldt shoots in looking for a takedown. Bloode tries to sprawl out of it but Akerfeldt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bloode manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Akerfeldt fails to land the takedown.
Bloode connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Akerfeldt's hands.
Bloode digs a good hook to Akerfeldt's body.
Bloode lands a front kick.
Akerfeldt drops his hands momentarily and Bloode takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Akerfeldt shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bloode manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bloode tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bloode sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Akerfeldt's guard.
Bloode really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akerfeldt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bloode seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Akerfeldt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bloode is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bloode is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Akerfeldt!
Akerfeldt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Akerfeldt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bloode pulls his head out easily.

Choctaw Bloode dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bloode keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bloode comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bloode sizes up Akerfeldt with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bloode scores with a nice right hand.
Bloode wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Bloode chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Akerfeldt shoots for a double leg takedown but Bloode sprawls well. He's pushed Akerfeldt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bloode punishes Akerfeldt's body with a nice straight punch.

Bloode moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Akerfeldt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bloode as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjorn Akerfeldt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bloode fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Akerfeldt looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Akerfeldt doesn't manage to clinch there - Bloode circles away.
Bloode lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bloode getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bloode cracks Akerfeldt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Choctaw Bloode is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bloode throws a good cross that connects.
Akerfeldt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Akerfeldt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bloode to score with a decent uppercut.
Bloode lands a big head kick that sends Akerfeldt to the canvas! Bloode follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Choctaw Bloode!
After the fight, Choctaw Bloode was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
