Davis ducks under a wild hook from Averescu.
Averescu digs a good body shot into Davis's ribs.
Davis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Davis misses with a double jab
and Averescu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The fighters circling - Averescu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Davis clinches up with Averescu and pushes him back against the cage.
Averescu blocks an uppercut.

Davis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Averescu scores with a punch to the head.

Davis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

and Averescu counters with a nice uppercut.
Averescu blocks a head kick by Davis.
Averescu closes the distance and pushes Davis back into the cage.
Davis tries for a takedown. No joy.
Davis manages to break the clinch.

and Averescu counters with a stiff right hand.
Davis tries to move into range but Averescu moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Davis is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Averescu ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Davis's jaw. Davis's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Averescu does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dan Averescu!
Dan Averescu bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
