Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gunars Zonbergs (ranked 24218 p4p, 24354 weight class) and Ryan Hall (ranked 266 p4p, 269 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The fight stays on the outside here - Zonbergs looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Zonbergs tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Hall counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Zonbergs tries to kick Hall off but Hall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hall is nestled in close to Zonbergs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hall rushes Zonbergs and presses him up against the cage.

We've been told by Zonbergs's head coaches at Catch Wrestling L.A. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Zonbergs avoids the head kick by Hall.
Zonbergs throws a big counter combination but Hall scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Hall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hall lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Zonbergs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hall defends it nicely.

Zonbergs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Zonbergs misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hall.

Hall lands a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hall closes the distance and clinches.
Zonbergs has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hall decides to pull guard.

Hall kicks Zonbergs off and gets to his feet.
Hall shoots in and drives through. Zonbergs sprawls well.
Zonbergs tries for a takedown but Hall circles away easily
and Hall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hall shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zonbergs napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Zonbergs is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hall lands a decent elbow from side control.
Oh Zonbergs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hall stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hall lands a huge takedown. Zonbergs is out but the ref is slow to react and Hall lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Zonbergs lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
