PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dusan Zabransky (ranked 4462 p4p, 6258 weight class) and Zimba Zimbawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zabransky comes to the cage accompanied by Baby Shark. Zimba Zimbawa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dusan Zabransky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Zimba Zimbawa!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.

Zabransky darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Zimbawa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zimbawa is not content to let Zabransky control the position.
Zimbawa gets full guard.
Zimbawa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zabransky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zabransky controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Zimbawa has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Zimbawa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zabransky doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zabransky manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Zimbawa is looking for a triangle but Zabransky pushes his legs off easily.
Zabransky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zimbawa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zimbawa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zimbawa throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Zabransky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zimbawa is working away from the top position though.

Zimbawa seems to be looking for submissions.

Zimbawa working over Zabransky with some ground and pound. Zabransky looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Zimbawa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Zimbawa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zabransky sees it coming and defends easily.

Zabransky flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Zimbawa seems to be working for a kimura but Zabransky defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zimbawa has Zabransky pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zabransky manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've been informed that Zimbawa has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Zabransky is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Zimbawa to keep the fight standing.
Zabransky comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Zabransky lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Zimbawa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zimbawa holds on and takes a little breather.
Zimbawa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zabransky manages to get himself to full guard.

Zimbawa wants to control from the top but Zabransky keeps moving.

Zimbawa with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Zimbawa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Zimbawa connects with a couple of short punches.

Zimbawa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Zabransky scores with a one two! Zimbawa had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Zimbawa throws a nice looking combination but Zabransky bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zabransky gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Zimbawa counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dusan Zabransky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zimbawa lands a really nice looking cross but Zabransky seems unphased.
Dusan Zabransky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zimbawa closes the distance and clinches.

The referee is keeping an eye on Zimbawa - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Zimbawa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Zimbawa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Zimbawa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zimbawa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Zimbawa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zabransky is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zimbawa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zimbawa's back!
Zimbawa looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Zimbawa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zabransky haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dusan Zabransky will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Zimbawa counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Zabransky thinking.
Zimbawa swats away the attempt to clinch by Zabransky.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Zabransky doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Zimbawa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Zimbawa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Zimbawa is trying to get an arm triangle but Zabransky is defending well.
Zabransky is not content to let Zimbawa control the position.

Zimbawa in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Zabransky is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
