Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Kondratuk (ranked 3971 p4p, 5600 weight class) and Nobuhito Inoue (ranked 446 p4p, 0 weight class). Dmitry Kondratuk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmitry Kondratuk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nobuhito Inoue!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Inoue doesn't manage to clinch there - Kondratuk circles away.

Inoue goes for a takedown attempt but Kondratuk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Inoue enables Kondratuk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Inoue manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kondratuk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kondratuk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Inoue has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kondratuk has managed to get both his arms back between Inoue's legs - danger averted.

Inoue escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kondratuk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Inoue does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Kondratuk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kondratuk showed some decent athleticism there.

Inoue is not content to let Kondratuk control the position.
Inoue wants to get back to his feet.
Kondratuk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Inoue is controlling Kondratuk's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Kondratuk winds up and cracks Inoue with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kondratuk looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kondratuk in particular looking to stall.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Inoue is desperately trying to improve his position but Kondratuk has a good base and remains in mount.
Inoue's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kondratuk goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Inoue is on top in guard.

Kondratuk has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Inoue is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kondratuk.
Kondratuk is looking to reverse the position.
Kondratuk wants to control but Inoue postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dmitry Kondratuk will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Inoue takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kondratuk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Inoue is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kondratuk presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Inoue's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
