Amaren shoots for a takedown but Gibson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gibson.
Amaren is looking for a sweep.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Amaren can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gibson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Amaren sprawls well initially but Gibson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gibson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Amaren for as long as he can get away with.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gibson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gibson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Amaren tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gibson!
