PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Smoke (ranked 4908 p4p, 5029 weight class) and Kevin Jorgensen (ranked 486 p4p, 493 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smoke might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to It Was A Good Day. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jorgensen misses with the body kick
and Smoke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smoke lands with an overhand left.
Jorgensen tries for a takedown but Smoke circles away easily
and Smoke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smoke misses with the combination.
Jorgensen wants to clinch
enabling Smoke to counter with a crisp jab.
Jorgensen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smoke.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jorgensen tries to clinch but Smoke is having none of it.

Smoke throws a nice looking combination but Jorgensen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Smoke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Big Smoke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Jorgensen .
Smoke rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jorgensen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jorgensen ! But no joy.

Smoke moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Smoke throws a right hand that Jorgensen ducks under and follows up with a left that Jorgensen also avoids with ease.

Smoke lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Smoke stalks Jorgensen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jorgensen 's face. Jorgensen staggers backwards, shaken.
Jorgensen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smoke.

and Smoke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jorgensen tries to clinch up.
Smoke moves out of range of the body kick.
Smoke works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Smoke is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Smoke tries to bum rush Jorgensen with a series of wild strikes but Jorgensen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smoke misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jorgensen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Smoke avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smoke lands a two punch combo.

Smoke stalks Jorgensen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jorgensen 's face. Jorgensen staggers backwards, shaken.
Jorgensen moves to clinch but Smoke breaks away
and Smoke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smoke closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Smoke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smoke checks a leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Smoke will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Smoke is looking to break free of the clinch but Jorgensen has double underhooks.

Smoke shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jorgensen eats them both and turns towards Smoke to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Jorgensen takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Jorgensen is still on wobbly legs! Can Smoke finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

In his post fight interview, Big Smoke started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
