Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Two Punch (ranked 4542 p4p, 24759 weight class) and Ichiro Shimizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ichiro Shimizu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ichiro Shimizu!

Shimizu clinches with his opponent.
Shimizu is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Two Punch is keeping busy.

Shimizu pulls guard successfully.

Two Punch has gone for a leg lock! Shimizu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Two Punch's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Two Punch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Two Punch tries to get out of the position.
Two Punch looking for a sweep but Shimizu has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Two Punch is desperately trying to improve his position but Shimizu has a good base and remains in mount.
Two Punch looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.

Shimizu can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Two Punch is looking to escape.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Two Punch avoids the strikes from Shimizu.
Shimizu tries to get the hooks in deep but Two Punch pushed the leg off.
Shimizu is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Two Punch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shimizu on the ground.

You can see the frustration on Two Punch's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Shimizu is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Two Punch knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Two Punch for a finish.

Two Punch shoots in for a takedown but Shimizu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Two Punch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shimizu can pounce on him.
Shimizu throws a head kick that Two Punch semi-blocks.
Shimizu throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Shimizu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Two Punch to the mat! Two Punch manages to get full guard.

Two Punch is trying to control the position but Shimizu postures up.

Two Punch is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Shimizu jumps into side control!
Shimizu creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Two Punch sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Shimizu is looking to take a break and control but Two Punch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ichiro Shimizu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shimizu stands up and beckons Two Punch to his feet.
Two Punch tries to land a front kick but Shimizu steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Despite the aggression on Shimizu's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Shimizu wants to get up but he can't break Two Punch's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Shimizu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Two Punch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ichiro Shimizu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Shimizu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Shimizu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Two Punch postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shimizu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Two Punch, into his guard.

Shimizu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Two Punch doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shimizu.

Well Shimizu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
