Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Finbar McLennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Grimm!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLennan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grimm pinned against the cage. Grimm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sloppy strikes from Grimm. Those never looked like landing.
McLennan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grimm's waist but Grimm gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McLennan off to one side.
McLennan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Finbar McLennan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Grimm. No joy for McLennan on that attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Grimm enables McLennan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grimm manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
McLennan sitting in guard, not really doing much.
McLennan won't allow Grimm to get back to his feet.
McLennan wants to control from the top but Grimm keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Grimm manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
McLennan fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Grimm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Grimm takes a swing at McLennan's ribcage but misses.
Grimm closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Finbar McLennan has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A cross from Grimm lands.

McLennan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Grimm wants to get back to his feet but McLennan drags him back down.

McLennan is working to tighten his grip on Grimm's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Grimm has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but McLennan is really squeezing tight and eventually Grimm passes out! McLennan breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Finbar McLennan!
A very excited looking Finbar McLennan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
