Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Steel Ii (ranked 1541 p4p, 734 weight class) and Potemkin Izmaylov (ranked 232 p4p, 110 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel Ii is looking to score with low kicks.
Steel Ii throws a hook but Izmaylov avoids it easily.

and Izmaylov counters with a nice body kick.
Steel Ii lunges at Izmaylov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Izmaylov's hand.

Izmaylov misses with a straight left.

Alex Steel Ii seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Izmaylov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Steel Ii circles away quickly and effectively.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Izmaylov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Steel Ii has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Steel Ii and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Steel Ii jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Izmaylov looks for the body kick but Steel Ii saw that one coming.
Steel Ii thuds a left hand into Izmaylov's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nice uppercut lands for Izmaylov. That snapped Steel Ii's head back.

Oh Steel Ii is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Izmaylov lands a big right hand that sends Steel Ii crashing to the mat! Izmaylov stays standing though and waves Steel Ii back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Izmaylov! Steel Ii is out on his feet! Izmaylov rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Steel Ii is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Steel Ii is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
