Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corporal Clegg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clegg has chosen Run Like Hell as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ruslan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corporal Clegg!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Clegg sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Clegg scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Clegg moves into the clinch.

Smith has Clegg pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Smith pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Clegg tumbling to the mat - Smith dives into Clegg's guard.

Clegg is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Smith gets to his feet - Clegg follows without any prompting.
Smith wants to clinch but Clegg slips to the side

and Clegg counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Smith!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Clegg is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Clegg stops Smith from getting back to his feet.
Clegg tries to stand and escape but Smith is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Clegg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Clegg is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Smith gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Clegg has hold of one of Smith's legs. Smith is fighting the takedown attempt but Clegg gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Clegg walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Clegg throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clegg but Clegg pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Clegg throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Clegg is working away from the top position though.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into side control. Clegg won't be happy with that.

Smith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Clegg to his feet.

Corporal Clegg showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Clegg rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Clegg lands a shot to the body.
Smith prevents Clegg from breaking the clinch.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Clegg lands a knee to the head.
Clegg throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Smith gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Clegg shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Clegg was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Smith is in a horrible position here. Clegg smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Smith reaches up to try and control the position but Clegg seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Smith rolls and tries to escape and now Clegg has his back!

Smith tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Clegg tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Clegg is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Smith can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Smith tries to hold on but Clegg pushes him away.

Smith is desperately trying to improve his position but Clegg has a good base and remains in mount.
Clegg is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Smith's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Clegg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Corporal Clegg is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Smith tries to lock up and control but Clegg gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
BOOM! Clegg connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Smith tries to reverse the position but Clegg maintains control.

Well Clegg has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
