The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lempi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hansen sprawls well initially but Lempi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hansen wants to improve his position but Lempi is controlling well.
Lempi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hansen is trying to get back to full guard.
Lempi is looking to advance position but Hansen won't allow it.

Hansen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lempi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hansen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lempi's back instead.

Lempi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lempi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hansen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lempi.

and Hansen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lempi's guard.
Hansen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hansen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lempi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hansen quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lempi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hansen celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
