The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scott shoots in and bounces De Janeiro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

De Janeiro looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Scott has picked De Janeiro up and slammed him! De Janeiro can't keep hold of the triangle and Scott manages to pass to side control!
De Janeiro is looking for a sweep.
Scott wants to stand but De Janeiro is controlling his arm.

Scott tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Janeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Scott is trying to ground and pound but De Janeiro uses the momentary lack of control by Scott to regain half guard.

De Janeiro slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of De Janeiro is proving hard to escape from.
De Janeiro utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

De Janeiro is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Scott has his hands clasped together but De Janeiro extends and breaks Scott's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by De Janeiro.
