Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Murray (ranked 6319 p4p, 5271 weight class) and Peter Wang (ranked 618 p4p, 564 weight class). Peter Wang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang stuffs the takedown attempt from Murray. Murray gets slowly back to his feet.
Murray misses with a jab, cross combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wang! But no joy.
Wang bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Murray's head backwards.
Murray throws a head kick that Wang semi-blocks.
Wang takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like James Murray has been cut.

Wang drops his shoulder and cracks Murray with a huge uppercut! Murray goes down! Can Wang finish him?

Murray is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wang wants to stand but Murray has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Murray utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Murray seems to have got his legs back now.
Murray pulls Wang in close to prevent any damage.

Wang postures up in Murray's guard and throws a big left but Murray blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murray looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wang is one step ahead there.
Wang tries to stand but Murray is controlling from the bottom.
Murray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wang on the ground.

Murray wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Murray's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Wang gets to his feet - Murray follows without any prompting.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wang drops Murray with a nice combination! Wang dives into Murray's guard, looking to finish!
Murray has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Wang is pushing down on Murray's leg trying to pass to half guard. Murray is fighting to maintain full guard but Wang has managed to sneak the leg through.
Wang throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
It looks like Wang is going to stand back up.
Murray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wang thows a huge punch but Murray dodges it nicely.
Wang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murray keeps working.
Murray tries to get to full guard but Wang has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murray's head.
Wang wants to stand but Murray has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Wang thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wang wants to stand up but Murray is controlling the position.
Murray is doing well to control the position and prevent Wang from advancing to side control.
Wang tries to stand and escape but Murray is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Murray tries for a takedown but Wang sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Murray looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Murray takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wang thuds his right hand into Murray's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Murray connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Wang lands a jab.
Wang swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Murray shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wang's guard.
Murray won't allow Wang to get back to his feet.
Murray engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Murray stops Wang from standing up.
Murray is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Murray throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Murray is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Murray prevents Wang from getting back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Wang dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Wang lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Wang knocks Murray out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
