Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Idowu (ranked 23874 p4p, 4296 weight class) and Joe Irwin (ranked 137 p4p, 67 weight class). Idowu comes to the cage accompanied by Rough And Rugged - Asher D and Daddy Freddy. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Idowu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Irwin!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Idowu misses.
Irwin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Idowu motions for Irwin to come forward. Idowu throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Irwin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Idowu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Irwin.
Sloppy strikes from Idowu. Those never looked like landing.
Irwin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Idowu to score with a decent uppercut.
Irwin lands a jab to Idowu's midsection.
Idowu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Irwin on the side of the head.
Idowu misses with a body shot.
Irwin throws an overhand right that lands on Idowu's shoulder, as Idowu tries to avoid the shot.
Idowu takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

It looks like Derrick Idowu has been cut.
Idowu has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Irwin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Decent striking displayed by Irwin there.
A nice inside leg kick there by Idowu. That's going to slow Irwin down.
Idowu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Irwin avoids the head kick by Idowu.
Irwin throws out a counter right but Idowu avoids it with no problem.

and Idowu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Irwin throws a head kick that Idowu semi-blocks.
Idowu takes a swing at Irwin's ribcage but misses.
Idowu throws a lazy right hand but Irwin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A little jabbing left from Irwin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Irwin lands a leg kick that knocks Idowu off balance momentarily.
Irwin just misses with a punch to the body.
Irwin misses the shot to the body.
Irwin sizes up Idowu with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Irwin misses with an attempted mid kick.
Idowu works over Irwin's head and body with a nice combination.
Irwin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Idowu.
Idowu finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Irwin looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Idowu misses with a right hand

This has been an exciting period of action!

and Idowu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Irwin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Idowu.
Idowu is rocked!

Idowu misses with a straight left.
Oh Idowu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Irwin engages and cracks Idowu with a massive lead left hook - Idowu tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Irwin is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
