Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shayne Foreman (ranked 4373 p4p, 4771 weight class) and Goro Yamamoto (ranked 462 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shayne Foreman !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Goro Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Yamamoto.
Foreman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Yamamoto is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yamamoto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Yamamoto tries to sprawl but Foreman drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Foreman in particular looking to stall.

Foreman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yamamoto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Foreman .

Still in half guard, Foreman seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foreman 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yamamoto is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Foreman scores with a couple of nice shots.
Foreman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Foreman lands a nice short elbow.

Foreman passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Yamamoto!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Foreman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Yamamoto is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Yamamoto and Foreman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Foreman lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Foreman advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Foreman working for a submission but Yamamoto is keeping him at bay.

Foreman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yamamoto with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Foreman is nestled in close to Yamamoto, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Foreman wants to free his trapped foot but Yamamoto is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Foreman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Foreman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fight stays on the outside here - Yamamoto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yamamoto wants to clinch up but Foreman keeps it at a distance.

Foreman is trying to trip Yamamoto. He has hold of a leg but Yamamoto is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Foreman persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Foreman lands a couple of good shots and Yamamoto has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Foreman looking to break Yamamoto's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Yamamoto remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Foreman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Yamamoto is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Foreman , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
