Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nyah Hirst!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Beam!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirst avoids the head kick by Beam.
Beam jabs Hirst right on the nose. Hirst blinks but takes it well.
Beam lands a glancing blow to the side of Hirst's head.
Hirst has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Beam misses with a combination
and Hirst counters with a left to the body.
Hirst scores with a hook.
Beam gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Hirst counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hirst blocks a leg kick.
Hirst thinks about countering with a body kick.
Beam's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hirst connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Beam scrambles back to his feet.
Beam throws a leg kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Beam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hirst's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Beam in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Beam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Beam postures up in Hirst's guard and throws a big left but Hirst blocks it.
Beam tries to free his leg and advance position but Hirst is retaining full guard.
Beam stands up over Hirst, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Beam controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beam slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Beam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hirst is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Beam sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hirst is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Beam working the ground and pound but Hirst is defending the strikes.

Beam thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hirst knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beam on the ground.
Hirst dodges the ground and pound from Beam.
Beam fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Beam tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The strikes coming from Beam are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Beam advances nicely into full mount.
Beam is landing with some decent strikes but Hirst is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Beam jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hirst manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Hirst is looking to reverse the position.
Hirst manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hirst prevents Beam from improving his position.
Hirst wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beam keeps working.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Beam moves into full guard.

Beam is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Beam looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hirst is one step ahead there.

Beam throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Beam has his feet on Hirst's thighs here. He's pushed Hirst off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hirst screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

A less than humble Jim Beam misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
