Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ndamukong Song (ranked 6898 p4p, 5461 weight class) and Wyatt Mcleod (ranked 650 p4p, 557 weight class). Ndamukong Song could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Wyatt Mcleod's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ndamukong Song!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Mcleod!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcleod is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Song.
Mcleod looks to clinch
and Song counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Song avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

It looks like Ndamukong Song has been cut.
An inside leg kick from Song misses.
Song gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mcleod counters with a series of strikes. Song will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcleod throws a push kick but Song slaps the foot to one side.

Mcleod pushes Song up against the cage in a clinch.
Song drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mcleod gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Song tries to score a body lock takedown but Mcleod shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Song breaks the clinch.
Song lands a lovely overhand right.
We've been told by Song's head coaches at Xtreme Black House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Song fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mcleod checks it well.
Mcleod replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Song blocks it well.
Mcleod tries to close the distance and clinch but Song swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mcleod tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Song paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mcleod has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Song shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Song closes the distance and pushes Mcleod back into the cage.
Mcleod is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Song drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mcleod pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mcleod throws a sloppy head kick and Song moves out of range easily.

Song appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Mcleod feints a jab promting Song to slip. Mcleod then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Song slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Song misses with a wild body shot.

Song rushes Mcleod and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mcleod avoids the elbow strike from Song, against the cage.

Song has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mcleod is trying to keep an underhook but Song manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Mcleod tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Song manages to move to mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Song content just to control the position here.
Mcleod sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Mcleod has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Song is working away from the top position though.

Song content to control rather than advance.
Song is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Song keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Song is looking to advance position but Mcleod won't allow it.

Song is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Mcleod as he works his way to full guard.
Song pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcleod is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcleod is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Song with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mcleod wants to improve his position but instead Song has moved into half guard.
Song content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ndamukong Song will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ndamukong Song's cut.
That's time! Song's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Song moves into the clinch.

Song pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mcleod wants to clinch.
Song went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Song shoots in for a double leg but Mcleod sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Song circles away from the clinch attempt.
Song goes for a double leg but Mcleod avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mcleod continues to drive forward.
Mcleod tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Song avoids it.

Song's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Song stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcleod swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mcleod wants to control the position but Song says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Well, if Song is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Song looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mcleod manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Song keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Song breaks from the clinch.
Mcleod tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mcleod connects with a body shot that sends Song's belly button to the back.
Mcleod tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Song paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Song closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mcleod misses with a punch on the inside.
Song is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mcleod pulls him back up using the underhooks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Song is looking for a takedown.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Song uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mcleod.
It looked like Song was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Mcleod gets a clinch.
Song keeps control of Mcleod as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Mcleod wants to get back to striking at distance but Song won't allow it.

Song jumps into guard, dragging Mcleod to the mat.
Song wants to get back to his feet but Mcleod is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Song keeping moving, preventing Mcleod from controlling successfully.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Song is on top in guard.

Mcleod has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Song avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Song manages to break the clinch.
Song fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcleod avoids it really well and circles away.
Mcleod tries to clinch up but Song circles away and keeps his distance.
Mcleod misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wyatt Mcleod is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Song keeps control of Mcleod as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mcleod has had enough of the clinch but Song keeps him there for the moment.

Song drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mcleod gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Song has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Mcleod regains guard immediately.

Mcleod is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Mcleod is trying to pull guard but Song has him pressed against the cage.

Song drives through with a takedown into Mcleod's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

I would just about give that final round to Wyatt Mcleod.
