PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vonderlie Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Longson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silver's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, buckets of blood. The crowd seem to be enjoying Longson's choice of entrance music: its a fight. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longson closes the distance and clinches up with Silver, looking for a takedown. Longson pushes Silver against the cage but Silver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Longson or perhaps it was just good defense by Silver which made him look bad.
Longson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silver swivels and escapes.
Vonderlie Silver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Longson.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longson shoots in and drives through. Silver sprawls well.
Silver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Longson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silver shoots in but Longson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Some wild striking there from Silver.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Longson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Longson misses with a takedown attempt - Silver sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Longson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silver does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Some bone on bone action there as Longson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Longson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silver's waist but Silver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Longson off to one side.
Silver swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Silver turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Silver waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Longson.
Longson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silver is fending him off so far but Longson persists. Nope, Silver circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Longson keeps the fight on the outside.

Longson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Longson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Anthony Longson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Silver misses with a few strikes there.
