PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gwafa Hazid (ranked 4304 p4p, 5043 weight class) and Desmond Bright (ranked 510 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hazid throws a body kick that misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bright is working for takedown but Hazid is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hazid trying to control the position but instead, Bright has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hazid into the cage.
Hazid wants to stall.
Hazid is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Bright gets control of Hazid's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bright will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Bright is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hazid is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hazid stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bright swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bright is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bright has his foot on Hazid's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hazid works his way back into a safe position though.
Hazid has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bright is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hazid is aware though and is defending well.
Bright manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hazid manages to get himself to full guard.

Bright won't allow Hazid to sweep him here.

Bright thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bright wants to control from the top but Hazid keeps moving.

Bright drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bright jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bright is trying to work for a kimura but Hazid is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bright in particular looking to stall.
Hazid is not content to let Bright control the position.
Hazid wants to sweep but Bright has passed to side control!
Bright advances to mount.

Hazid is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Bright locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Hazid is forced to tap!
