Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jayson Darnell (ranked 3114 p4p, 3400 weight class) and Denis Meacham (ranked 397 p4p, 423 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Denis Meacham!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meacham displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Darnell.
Meacham with the counter takedown but Darnell avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meacham.
We've been told by Darnell's head coaches at DK MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Darnell gets tackled into the cage by Meacham. Meacham maintains the clinch.

Meacham is trying to trip Darnell. He has hold of a leg but Darnell is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Meacham persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Meacham looking to sit in guard and control but Darnell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Meacham is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Darnell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Darnell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Meacham holds on and takes a little breather.
Meacham wants to stand up but Darnell is controlling him.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Meacham has Darnell pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Meacham is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Darnell's half guard.
Meacham working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Darnell is breathing heavily.
Darnell tries to get to full guard but Meacham has control of the leg.
Meacham wants to take a breather but Darnell is having none of it.
Darnell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Meacham is keen to just control but Darnell is a slippery customer.
Meacham passes to full mount!
Meacham lands a big elbow.

Meacham unloads with some shots from mount but Darnell bucks and avoids them well.
Meacham throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Darnell because Meacham loaded up on that one.

Meacham looking for a guillotine from mount but Darnell is having none of it.
Meacham lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Darnell hang on?
Meacham unloads with some shots from mount but Darnell bucks and avoids them well.
Meacham is landing with some decent strikes but Darnell is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Meacham tries to control but Darnell wriggling away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Meacham scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Darnell is rocked!

The referee warns Darnell that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oh Darnell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Meacham lands a big shot there that rocks Darnell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Darnell takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Meacham's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
