Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pekka Vesuri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Piazza!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vesuri uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Piazza.
Vesuri feinted there with a counter leg kick.

Vesuri tries to keep at a distance but Piazza has taken the fight into the clinch.

Vesuri looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vesuri ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Piazza moves away.
Vesuri takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Vesuri throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Piazza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vesuri was well out of range. Poor timing from Piazza.
Piazza swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Some bone on bone action there as Vesuri checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Piazza lunges at Vesuri with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Vesuri's hand.
Vesuri throws a solid leg kick but Piazza takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Vesuri.

Vesuri appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

The referee calls for Vesuri to work.
Piazza tries to throw a body punch but Vesuri avoids it by throwing Piazza back against the cage.
Piazza throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Piazza tries to pull guard but Vesuri won't allow it.

Piazza ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Piazza no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Piazza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vesuri doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Piazza is tightening it up a little... Vesuri has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Vesuri reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Vesuri taps out! Nice BJJ there by Piazza!
