Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dom Cruz (ranked 316 p4p, 788 weight class) and Aaron McGinnis (ranked 19 p4p, 44 weight class). McGinnis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Star.One - Original Badman Feat. Takura & Assassin. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dom Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron McGinnis!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGinnis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cruz swings for the body but McGinnis moves out of range.
McGinnis takes a jab right on the kisser.
Cruz with a lazy takedown attempt
and McGinnis counters with a straight right hand.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown but McGinnis shows good takedown defense.
Cruz throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McGinnis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cruz falls off balance throwing a combination
and McGinnis counters with a straight right hand.
Dom Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGinnis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cruz manages to avoid it.
We've been hearing reports that Cruz has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
A punch lands to the side of McGinnis 's head but he takes it in his stride.
McGinnis moves out of range as Cruz strikes.
McGinnis throws a body kick that misses.
McGinnis scores with a jab to the head.
Cruz shoots and misses
and McGinnis counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Cruz is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dom Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cruz scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

and McGinnis counters with a nice body kick.
McGinnis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cruz checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cruz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

McGinnis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McGinnis swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cruz misses with a telegraphed body shot
and McGinnis counters with a slapping leg kick.
McGinnis lands a really nice looking cross but Cruz seems unphased.
Oh Cruz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McGinnis has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

and McGinnis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from McGinnis. Cruz shrugs it off though.
Cruz dives in and grabs McGinnis's left leg, looking for a takedown. McGinnis pushes down on Cruz's head and hops out.
McGinnis swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cruz is breathing heavily.
McGinnis feints and then cracks Cruz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cruz down.
McGinnis throws a looping overhand right but Cruz ducks down to avoid it.
Cruz seems to have got his legs back now.
Cruz tries to move into range but McGinnis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
McGinnis moves out of range of the strikes.
McGinnis takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Cruz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGinnis as he jumps to the side.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGinnis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cruz on the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cruz.
McGinnis looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
McGinnis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cruz's hands.
McGinnis misses with a leg kick.
Cruz was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
McGinnis lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cruz will feel that in the morning.
Cruz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McGinnis counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Aaron McGinnis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGinnis throws a body punch but Cruz moves out of range.
McGinnis connects with a crisp jab.
McGinnis throws out a loose jab but Cruz uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGinnis takes one to the chin there.
Cruz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McGinnis finds it's way round the side to connect with Cruz's head.
McGinnis slips under a jab from Cruz.
McGinnis lands a glancing blow to the side of Cruz's head.
McGinnis lands a nice looking body shot.
Cruz moves out of range of the body kick.
Cruz throws a shot to the body.
Cruz throws an off balance right hand
enabling McGinnis to counter with a crisp jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cruz misses with a wild combination.
McGinnis misses with a body kick.
McGinnis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
McGinnis sizes up Cruz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
McGinnis tries to clinch there but Cruz circles away.
McGinnis connects with an inside leg kick.
McGinnis fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cruz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cruz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Cruz throws out a loose jab but McGinnis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cruz pushes McGinnis away with a front kick.
Cruz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGinnis manages to avoid it.
McGinnis drops Cruz with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Cruz! McGinnis dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aaron McGinnis!
An out of breath Aaron McGinnis thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
