PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lee Sin (ranked 2194 p4p, 1740 weight class) and Darnell Cane (ranked 298 p4p, 251 weight class). Sin comes to the cage accompanied by Original Nuttah. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lee Sin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darnell Cane!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sin rushes Cane and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cane fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Cane's coach down at Alpha Brasil was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cane's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Cane is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Sin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cane pulls his leg out and moves away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sin moves into range and clinches up with Cane.
Cane is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Cane prevents the takedown attempt.
Cane misses with a short punch on the inside.
Cane can't find room to land a body shot as Sin controls the action.

Cane lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sin backwards.

Sin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cane walks away with a smile on his face. Sin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cane throws a looping overhand right but Sin ducks down to avoid it.
Sin feinted there with a counter leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Darnell Cane dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nice defenses there by Sin.
A little feinted left hand from Sin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Cane throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sin closes the distance and clinches.

Cane seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Cane is pressed up against the cage. Sin has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cane down to the mat. Cane avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cane works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Sin is trying to drag Cane to the mat but Cane just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
