The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maximus gets caught flat footed, as Dahmer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Dahmer throws a strike but Maximus rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dahmer is working an open guard so Maximus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Dahmer shoots for a double leg takedown but Maximus sprawls well. He's pushed Dahmer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Battery Maximus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dahmer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Maximus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Maximus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Maximus!

Maximus stands up and beckons Dahmer to his feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Dahmer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maximus tries to avoid it but Dahmer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maximus to the ground. Maximus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dahmer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maximus walks away with a smile on his face. Dahmer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
No joy there for Maximus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maximus cracks Dahmer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dahmer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dahmer.
Maximus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dahmer.
Dahmer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maximus as he avoids it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maximus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Maximus misses with a double jab.
Maximus closes the distance but Dahmer moves to the side
and Dahmer counters with a one-two to the body.

Dahmer stands and throws Maximus's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Battery Maximus.
