The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welles throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Welles throws a right and a left that Necktie avoids nicely.
Necktie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Welles lands a with a good body shot.
Necktie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Welles throws out the jab.
Welles throws out a loose jab but Necktie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Necktie looks for a takedown but Welles sprawls well.
Necktie throws a nice looking combination but Welles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Necktie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Welles is fending him off so far but Necktie persists. Nope, Welles circles away and we're back to standing.
Gideon Welles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauno Necktie.

The fighters circling - Welles throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Welles thows a body shot but no joy.
Welles swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Welles cracks Necktie with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Welles has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Necktie to stand back up!

It looks like Mauno Necktie has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Necktie takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Necktie is still on wobbly legs! Can Welles finish him?
Welles misses with a looping left.
