PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mono Loco (ranked 736 p4p, 1090 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 92 p4p, 129 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mono Loco has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mono Loco seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mono Loco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loco shoots and misses
and Reedtz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Loco fails to land the takedown.
Reedtz connects with a looping right hand.
Loco seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Reedtz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Reedtz sizes up Loco with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Reedtz thumps Loco with a low kick.
Reedtz cracks Loco with an open hand slap.
Loco moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Loco darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Reedtz is looking to control Loco's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reedtz avoid being mounted?

Reedtz works his way to full guard. Good work.
Loco wants to control from the top but Reedtz keeps moving.
Reedtz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Loco manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reedtz manages to get himself to full guard.

Reedtz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Loco's guard.

Rasmus Reedtz dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Loco closes the distance and clinches up with Reedtz, looking for a takedown. Loco pushes Reedtz against the cage but Reedtz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Reedtz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Loco tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Reedtz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Loco's head backwards.
Reedtz lands a lovely overhand right.
Loco darts in looking for a takedown but Reedtz gets double underhooks and turns Loco into the cage.
Loco has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reedtz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mono Loco. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Loco fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Reedtz throws a leg kick which misses Loco's front leg but catches the back leg as Loco tries to avoid it.
Mono Loco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reedtz moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Loco tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reedtz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Loco somewhat.

Loco looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Reedtz!

Loco staying calm.
Reedtz tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Loco tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Loco has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Reedtz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Reedtz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Loco wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Loco is looking to take a break and control but Reedtz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Reedtz slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Reedtz keeping hold of Loco's head, controlling as best he can.
Reedtz is pressing down on Loco's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Rasmus Reedtz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Reedtz digs a good hook to Loco's body.

Reedtz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Loco sprawls well initially but Reedtz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Reedtz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Oh Loco is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Reedtz postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Loco badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Reedtz around the waist but Reedtz pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Reedtz is the winner by TKO! Reedtz jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rasmus Reedtz!
Our winner, Rasmus Reedtz, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
