The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sosa pushes down on Vandelay's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Sosa is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Vandelay to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Sosa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vandelay manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sosa has Vandelay in his guard.

Sosa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vandelay is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sosa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vandelay's back instead.

Vandelay is trying to shake Sosa off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Sosa won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
