Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lee Kevin (ranked 5484 p4p, 6275 weight class) and Jaryd Lund (ranked 524 p4p, 573 weight class). Jaryd Lund has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lee Kevin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaryd Lund!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kevin drives through and clinches with Lund against the cage.

Kevin gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kevin controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've been hearing that Kevin has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lund has an active guard here but Kevin has managed to pass into half guard.
Kevin performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Lund is looking for a sweep. Kevin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lund keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Still in half guard, Kevin seems content to control.

Kevin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lund for as long as he can get away with.
The referee warns Lund that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Kevin breaks from Lund's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Lund feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lund isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kevin stacks Lund on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kevin!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Lund tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lund seems a little lost for a moment, as Kevin dominates the positioning.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Lund is trying to escape the position but Kevin is controlling the position.
Lund felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Lund sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Lund won't allow Kevin to pass to mount.

Kevin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Kevin content to control rather than advance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lund shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kevin is trying to defend but Lund finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

That's time! Kevin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lund fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kevin to the ground. Lund is now in Kevin's guard.
Kevin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kevin stops Lund from getting back to his feet.
Lee Kevin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lund strikes from the bottom but Kevin uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Lund is pushing Kevin's head away, looking to escape. Kevin manages to hold on to the position though.
Kevin just content to control the position.

Kevin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Lund takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Lund is looking for a sweep.
Kevin is staying tight to Lund's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Check out the look on Kevin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Lund tries to buck Kevin off but Kevin is having none of it.
Lund takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kevin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
