Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Saxon Byrd (ranked 4779 p4p, 4777 weight class) and Virgil Hume (ranked 510 p4p, 509 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saxon Byrd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Virgil Hume!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hume moves out of range as Byrd strikes.
Hume shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Byrd has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hume tries for a takedown but Byrd manages to get underhooks.

Byrd breaks from the clinch.
Byrd changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hume tries to avoid it but Byrd manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hume to the ground. Hume escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Byrd looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hume is fending him off so far but Byrd persists. Nope, Hume circles away and we're back to standing.
Hume is looking for the big counter here.
Byrd jabs at Hume's body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Byrd or perhaps it was just good defense by Hume, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Saxon Byrd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Byrd looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hume lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Byrd doesn't manage to clinch there - Hume circles away.
Hume steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Byrd.
A head kick misses from Hume.
Hume throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Byrd tries to counter with a takedown but Hume is quick to defend against it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hume fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Byrd throwing a counter right hand but Hume manages to avoid it.
Byrd stalks Hume and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hume's face. Hume staggers backwards, shaken.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hume is defended easily by Byrd.

And that's the end of the fight!
Saxon Byrd showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Byrd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
