Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diego Armando!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Beam!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armando darts in looking for a takedown but Beam gets double underhooks and turns Armando into the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Armando.
Beam wants a takedown.
A short left from Armando.
Beam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Beam blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Beam is trying to break the clinch but Armando has him pressed against the cage.
Beam jumps into guard, dragging Armando to the mat.
Armando trying to control but Beam is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beam wants to stand up but Armando is controlling him.

Beam keeping moving, preventing Armando from controlling successfully.
Beam looking to hit a scissor sweep but Armando is one step ahead there.
Armando trying to control but Beam is working from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Armando shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Beam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Armando pulls his head out easily.

Beam is controlling Armando's trapped leg to prevent Armando from advancing to side control.

Beam tries to get to full guard but Armando has control of the leg.
Armando wants to take a breather but Beam is having none of it.
Beam is trying to control but can't.
Armando seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beam does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Beam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Armando pulls his head out easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Armando is trying to control the action in half guard but Beam is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jim Beam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
