This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 6 losses; Ceph Alopodis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Alopodis closes the distance and clinches up with Caldeira, looking for a takedown. Alopodis pushes Caldeira against the ropes but Caldeira circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Alopodis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Caldeira's waist but Caldeira gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alopodis off to one side.

Caldeira rushes Alopodis and presses him up against the ropes.
Alopodis tries to score a body lock takedown but Caldeira shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Arturo Caldeira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ceph Alopodis.
Alopodis is looking to take this one to the mat.
Caldeira has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Alopodis after a bit of a struggle.

Caldeira successfully pulls guard.
Caldeira not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Alopodis is trying to work for a kimura but Caldeira is defending well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Caldeira works his way to full guard. Good work.
Alopodis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Alopodis stands and throws Caldeira's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Caldeira is trying to control Alopodis's posture but Alopodis avoids it.
Alopodis has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Caldeira is trying to escape the mount.

Alopodis has control of Caldeira's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Caldeira regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Caldeira has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Caldeira is trying to break free.

Alopodis is looking for the choke from the back position but Caldeira is controlling his hands well.

Alopodis working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Caldeira is doing well to defend. Alopodis seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Caldeira is forced to tap and this one is over!
