The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tapia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Forfun throws a leg kick but Tapia checks it.
Tapia looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Forfun tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Tapia looks for a takedown but Forfun sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Javier Tapia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

No luck for Tapia with that takedown attempt.

Tapia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Forfun was covering up waiting for the punch and Tapia finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tapia throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tapia drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Forfun dives on top into guard.

Forfun trying to control the position from guard on top but Tapia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tapia can't keep his opponent in guard - Forfun advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Well, if Forfun is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Forfun with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Forfun takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Tapia looking for a kimura from the bottom but Forfun passes into side control!
Tapia on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tapia tries to get out of the position.
Tapia manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Tapia has gone for a leg lock! Forfun slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tapia's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Forfun avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tapia is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Forfun defends well.

Tapia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Forfun's corner is telling him to maintain position.

I would just about give that final round to Justin Forfun.
