A fine choice. Thomas has chosen Devil went down to Georgia as his entrance music. Jack Kerns could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Thomas's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thomas is fending him off so far but Kerns persists. Nope, Thomas circles away and we're back to standing.
Kerns finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Jack Kerns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kerns sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kerns throws a shot from downtown. Thomas moves away and avoids it.
Kerns throws a big shot that misses.
Kerns lands with a hook. Thomas tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Kerns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to avoid it but Kerns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thomas to the ground. Thomas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Kerns. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thomas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kerns - the referee stops the clock and Thomas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kerns. Thomas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kerns shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense.

Thomas lands with a nice combination. Kerns backs away looking to recover.
Thomas throws a body punch but Kerns moves out of range.
Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kerns moves away.
Kerns tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thomas moves away from the strike by Kerns.
Thomas clobbers Kerns with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kerns throws a body kick that misses.
Thomas throws a looping overhand right but Kerns ducks down to avoid it.
Thomas thows a leg kick but Kerns checks it
and Kerns counters with a nice body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thomas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kerns takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kerns throws a leg kick but Thomas sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Kerns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kerns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kerns wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Thomas throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kerns on the side of the head.

Thomas lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kerns shoots for a double leg takedown but Thomas sprawls well. He's pushed Kerns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kerns looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

John Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kerns takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Thomas darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kerns takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kerns wants to clinch up but Thomas keeps it at a distance.
Thomas avoids the head kick by Kerns.
Thomas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Thomas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kerns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thomas, pushing him back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Thomas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Thomas has a couple of punches blocked by Kerns.
Thomas is trying to break the clinch but Kerns has him pressed against the cage.
Kerns lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

John Thomas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Thomas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
