Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Felix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Halperin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halperin has chosen I am going to kill you (with the help of Muno) as his entrance music. Daniel Halperin acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Halperin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Halperin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Felix tries to avoid it but Halperin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Felix to the ground. Felix escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Felix tries to bum rush Halperin with a series of wild strikes but Halperin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Felix connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Halperin's hands.
Felix throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Halperin.

Felix is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Felix lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Felix stops a takedown attempt from Halperin.

Halperin has Felix pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Felix manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Halperin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Felix is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Halperin, into his guard.

Felix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Halperin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Halperin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Felix wants to control from the top but Halperin keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Felix loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Felix won't allow Halperin to sweep him here.
Felix tries to free his leg and advance position but Halperin is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Halperin closes the distance but Felix moves to the side
and Felix connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Junior Felix is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Felix counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

A nice right hand lands inside from Felix.
Felix presses Halperin against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Felix will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Halperin up against the cage.

Halperin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Felix fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Felix swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Felix lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Halperin tries to clinch up

Felix pushes Halperin up against the cage in a clinch.

Halperin gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Felix makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Felix.
Halperin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Felix lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Halperin!
Felix takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Halperin is looking to improve his position but Felix isn't that keen on the idea.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Halperin feints and as Felix raises his hands in defense, Halperin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Halperin has gone for a leg lock! Felix slips out almost immediately though and dives into Halperin's guard.
Felix wants to control from the top but Halperin keeps moving.

Halperin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Halperin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Felix gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Halperin tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Halperin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Felix is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Halperin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Felix's back instead.
Felix manages to reverse the position and now he's in Halperin's guard. Nice work there by Felix.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Halperin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Felix connects with a jab.

Halperin can't get the takedown.

Felix is fighting off a takedown attempt but Halperin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Felix to the mat. Felix regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Halperin is fighting to break Felix's control of his arms but Felix is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Felix has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Halperin is proving hard to escape from.

Halperin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Halperin wants to improve his position but Felix is controlling well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Felix, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
