Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Chapel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Ivey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trent Chapel!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivey is looking to clinch.
Ivey wants to slow Chapel down by chopping away at his legs.
Ivey closes the distance and clinches up with Chapel, looking for a takedown. Ivey pushes Chapel against the cage but Chapel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ivey fails with a takedown attempt.
Ivey moves in looking to clinch but Chapel pushes him off.
Horrible takedown by Ivey or perhaps it was just good defense by Chapel which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Ivey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Chapel takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Chapel just misses with a punch to the body.
Ivey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chapel misses with a looping right.
Chapel misses with an uppercut.

Ivey gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chapel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chapel wants to control from the top but Ivey keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ivey had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chapel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ivey Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chapel's back instead.
Chapel trying to control the position but Ivey manages to sink in the hooks.

Ivey looking for the choke from the back.

Ivey goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Chapel escapes and is now in half guard on top.
Chapel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ivey knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chapel is keen to just control but Ivey is a slippery customer.
Chapel throwing shots but Ivey is blocking nicely.
Chapel wants to control but Ivey is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chapel swats away the attempt to clinch by Ivey.
Ivey pushes Chapel away with a front kick.
Ivey fails with the takedown

and Chapel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ivey won't be happy with that.
Chapel scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ivey to see if he's OK.
Chapel trying to control the position but Ivey is working away.
A lull in the action here as Chapel stalls from top position.
Ivey sneaks back into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Chapel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chapel is looking to take a break and control but Ivey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ivey is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Chapel pulls his head out easily.
Ivey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chapel lands strikes from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ivey is trying to maintain the position but Chapel is very close to passing his half guard.
Chapel wants to free his trapped foot but Ivey is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Chapel throws a head kick but Ivey moves out of range.
Ivey tries for a takedown but Chapel circles away easily
and Chapel makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ivey really felt that one!
Ivey is breathing heavily.
Chapel feints and then cracks Ivey's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ivey down.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ivey is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ivey wants to clinch
and Chapel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Chapel dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Chapel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ivey sprawls well initially but Chapel persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Chapel wants to work for an arm triangle but Ivey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ivey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chapel is working away from the top position though.
Ivey moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Ivey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chapel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Chapel trying to control but Ivey is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chapel lands a couple of elbows.

Chapel drops back looking for a leg! Ivey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ivey manages to kick Chapel off! Chapel jumps back into Ivey's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chapel connects with a couple of short punches.

Chapel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ivey has his foot on Chapel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chapel works his way back into a safe position though.

Chapel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ivey's head.

Chapel trying to control the position from guard on top but Ivey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ivey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chapel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ivey is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Chapel frees his head nicely. Oh but Ivey has switched to an armbar! Chapel is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Phil Ivey!
