Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Poo Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Figgs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping comes to the cage accompanied by rollerz on dre - mac dre. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Poo Ping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frankie Figgs!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ping closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Figgs to the mat! Figgs manages to get full guard.
Ping looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Figgs is trying to keep Ping in close.
Figgs keeping moving, preventing Ping from controlling successfully.
Figgs thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Figgs pushes Ping off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Figgs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Figgs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ping counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Figgs wants to land a leg kick but Ping is out of range.

Figgs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice shot lands for Figgs.

Figgs takes the fight into the clinch.
Figgs has had enough of the clinch but Ping keeps him there for the moment.

Figgs pulls guard.
Ping could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ping trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Figgs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ping manages to get himself to full guard.
Ping wants to get back to his feet but Figgs is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ping working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Figgs.
Figgs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ping looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Figgs puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Ping might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Figgs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ping is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ping in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Ping is trying desperately to improve position.

Figgs is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ping can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Frankie Figgs dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Figgs doesn't manage to clinch there - Ping circles away.
Figgs misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Figgs throws a head kick but Ping moves out of range.
Ping pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Figgs swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ping.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ping looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Ping counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ping wants to pass the guard but Figgs is keeping the position.
Ping looking to sit in guard and control but Figgs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Figgs is standing up over Ping. Ping looks to escape but Figgs dives into side control.
Ping tries to buck Figgs off but Figgs is having none of it.

Ping is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Figgs looks up at the clock and then as Ping takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Figgs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ping tries to lock up and control but Figgs gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ping is desperately trying to improve his position but Figgs has a good base and remains in mount.
Figgs lands with some strikes.
Ping keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Figgs avoids the attempt from Ping to control.
Ping is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Poo Ping dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Figgs lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ping has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ping and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Ping fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Ping counters with a single leg into guard. Figgs didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ping stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Figgs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ping wants to control from the top but Figgs keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ping is stalling in the full guard.
Figgs trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Figgs fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Figgs misses with a jab, cross combination.

Ping changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Figgs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Figgs regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ping's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Ping is keen to just control but Figgs is a slippery customer.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ping tries for a takedown but Figgs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ping fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Poo Ping. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Figgs tries a head kick but it misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Poo Ping showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ping has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
