Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pertti Piiska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piiska shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hughes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Piiska looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Piiska trying to control but Hughes is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piiska wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Hughes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hughes working to try and regain half guard.
Hughes gets back to half guard.

Hughes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Hughes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Piiska is working away from the top position though.
Piiska not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hughes wants to control but Piiska is keeping busy.
Hughes is looking to improve his position.
Piiska tries to pass to full mount but Hughes defends it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Piiska counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Piiska is looking to take a break and control but Hughes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hughes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hughes working for a triangle but Piiska defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hughes wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Piiska is now in half guard.

Piiska is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Hughes has managed to free his arm - good work.
Piiska seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hughes has one foot on Piiska's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

and Hughes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Piiska works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hughes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Piiska swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Piiska has control of Hughes's left arm, preventing Hughes from doing any damage.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but Piiska is keeping the position.

Piiska is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hughes has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Piiska to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hughes is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Piiska pulls down on the head and he's put Hughes to sleep! This one is all over!
