Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Finnish Experiment (ranked 330 p4p, 361 weight class) and Hiroshi Ekaku (ranked 43 p4p, 46 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 15 - 3, fighting out of Helsinki, Finnish Experiment!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hiroshi Ekaku!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekaku lands with a straight right. Experiment didn't see that one coming.
Experiment throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ekaku counters with a nice body kick.
Experiment fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ekaku checks it well.
Ekaku lands a nice shot to the body.
Experiment takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Ekaku misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Ekaku closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Experiment did well to prevent Ekaku getting side control.
Ekaku stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ekaku is keen to just control but Experiment is a slippery customer.
Ekaku is pressing down on Experiment's thigh, looking to free his foot. Experiment is holding on for now.

Ekaku is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Experiment defends it well.

Ekaku is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Experiment sees it coming and defends easily.
Experiment is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ekaku tries to pass the half guard into mount. Experiment knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ekaku wants to work for an arm triangle but Experiment is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Experiment controlling the position for now.
Experiment is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ekaku performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ekaku gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Experiment throws a body kick that misses.
Experiment changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ekaku misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ekaku tests Experiment's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Experiment fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Some wild striking there from Ekaku.
Ekaku scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Ekaku cracks Experiment with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ekaku finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Experiment takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
An attempted straight right counter from Experiment misses the target.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hiroshi Ekaku dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Experiment takes a swing at Ekaku's ribcage but misses.
Experiment takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Experiment just misses with a punch to the body.
Ekaku jabs Experiment right on the nose. Experiment blinks but takes it well.
Hiroshi Ekaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ekaku closes this distance looking for a takedown but Experiment circles away.
Experiment tries to clinch but Ekaku moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Experiment throws the kick towards the body but Ekaku avoids it.
Ekaku throws out a loose jab but Experiment uses good head movement to avoid it.
Experiment throws a quick counter kick to the body but Ekaku avoids it.

Ekaku throws a push kick but Experiment slaps the foot to one side.
Ekaku missing with a left hand there. Experiment was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Experiment appears to be looking for a big counter.
A cross from Ekaku lands.
Ekaku misses with an uppercut.

Experiment moves into the clinch.
Experiment is working Ekaku over against the cage.
Experiment throws an elbow that misses.
Ekaku dodges an elbow strike from Experiment.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Experiment.
Ekaku throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Experiments head.

Experiment manages to break the clinch.
Ekaku has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Experiment throws a leg kick which misses Ekaku's front leg but catches the back leg as Ekaku tries to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ekaku throws a hook but Experiment blocks it.
Ekaku pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Experiment connects with a high kick.

It looks like Hiroshi Ekaku has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ekaku loads up on a big right hand but Experiment slips the punch.
Ekaku ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Experiment moves away.
As Ekaku backs away, Experiment returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Ekaku tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A chopping leg kick lands by Experiment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Experiment closes the distance but Ekaku moves to the side

and Ekaku decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Experiment's guard.
Ekaku stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Experiment swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ekaku controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Experiment pulls Ekaku in to control the position.
Ekaku wants to control from the top but Experiment keeps moving.
Ekaku slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ekaku is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Experiment looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ekaku gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Experiment is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ekaku lets go of the hold and Experiment can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hiroshi Ekaku!
Hiroshi Ekaku bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Finnish Experiment spoke after the fight, saying 'This was my last fight. Skills decling and chin gone. '.
