Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Leeland Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Patton keeping moving, preventing Chapman from controlling successfully.

Patton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Patton seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Chapman gets to his feet. Patton looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Despite being in the dominant position, Leeland Chapman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Patton closes the distance and clinches up with Chapman, looking for a takedown. Patton pushes Chapman against the cage but Chapman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Patton gets caught flat footed, as Chapman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chapman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Patton's guard.

Patton is desperately trying to improve his position but Chapman has a good base and remains in mount.
Chapman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

I looks like Chapman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Chapman!
Chapman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patton manages to avoid it.

Chapman throws a right hand that Patton ducks under and follows up with a left that Patton also avoids with ease.

Patton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Chapman.
Chapman controls the position from side control.
Chapman is looking to take a break and control but Patton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Patton holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Leeland Chapman has got the better of the ground game so far.

Chapman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Left hook, right uppercut from Chapman.
Patton blocks a low kick nicely.
Chapman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Craig Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leeland Chapman.
Chapman takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leeland Chapman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Chapman shoots for a takedown but Patton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Chapman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Patton wants to improve his position but Chapman is controlling well.
Patton makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Patton.
Patton has momentary wrist control but Chapman slips an elbow through the middle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chapman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Chapman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Chapman passes into half guard.
Patton trying to get back to full guard but Chapman takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Patton tries to hold on but Chapman postures up.
Craig Patton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Patton is in all sorts of trouble here.
Leeland Chapman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Chapman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Leeland Chapman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Chapman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
