The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zuberi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Zuberi is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Zuberi has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Zuberi lands a nice short elbow.

Zuberi seems to be working for a kimura but Jackson defends the submission attempt.

Jackson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Zuberi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Zuberi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Zuberi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Zuberi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jackson!

Zuberi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jackson is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
