Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Yonic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kekot Koket!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yonic closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Yonic seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Yonic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Koket wants to control but Yonic is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Yonic looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Koket finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Yonic closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yonic lands in his opponent's guard.
Koket looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Yonic puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Yonic lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Still in half guard, Yonic seems content to control.
Yonic passes to full mount!
Yonic scoring with strikes but Koket is staying in there.

Yonic looking to secure an arm triangle but Koket defends it well.

Koket throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Yonic looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Koket reaches up to try and control the position but Yonic seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Koket rolls and tries to escape and now Yonic has his back!
Yonic trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Koket doesn't escape.

Yonic seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Koket for as long as he can get away with.
Yonic has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Yonic is working for a rear naked choke. Koket is not defending it well and Yonic has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Koket refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Koket's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
