Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Evan Hvidston (ranked 4495 p4p, 6388 weight class) and Nobuhito Inoue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Nobuhito Inoue enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Hvidston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nobuhito Inoue!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Inoue pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Inoue fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hvidston changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Inoue tries to avoid it but Hvidston manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Inoue to the ground. Inoue escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Inoue tries to keep at a distance but Hvidston has taken the fight into the clinch.
Inoue is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hvidston to keep the fight standing.
Hvidston is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Inoue ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Inoue no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Inoue has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Inoue's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Inoue is on top in guard.

Hvidston is working an open guard so Inoue takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hvidston tries to clinch but Inoue moves out of range.

Inoue has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hvidston.
Inoue darts in looking for a takedown but Hvidston gets double underhooks and turns Inoue into the cage.
Evan Hvidston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nobuhito Inoue.
Inoue shoots for a takedown but Hvidston saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hvidston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Inoue looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Inoue ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Inoue no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hvidston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Inoue on the ground.

Inoue has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hvidston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Inoue is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Inoue unleashes a big counter combination but Hvidston bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Inoue counters with a left and a right that stings Hvidston.

As Hvidston backs off Inoue throws a huge counter combo but Hvidston manages to avoid it all.
Inoue dives in and grabs Hvidston's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hvidston pushes down on Inoue's head and hops out.

Inoue moves into range and clinches up with Hvidston.
Hvidston tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Inoue tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hvidston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hvidston has his takedown stuffed

and Inoue counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hvidston prevents a takedown attempt there.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Inoue jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hvidston walks away with a smile on his face. Inoue gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Inoue holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hvidston has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Inoue escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Inoue!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hvidston is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Inoue is controlling him well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Inoue is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hvidston has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Inoue takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hvidston tries to hold on but Inoue postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Inoue gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Nobuhito Inoue showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Inoue drives through with a takedown into Hvidston's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

I've got Inoue winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
