Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Pascalo (ranked 5461 p4p, 6030 weight class) and Noa Hon (ranked 567 p4p, 606 weight class). Noa Hon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paulo Pascalo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Noa Hon!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hon has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Hon as the two fighters clinch.
Hon slowing the pace effectively.
Pascalo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pascalo tries to pull guard but Hon forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hon stalling the fight.
Hon leaning against his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hon breaks from the clinch.

Hon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pascalo prevents a body shot from Hon.

Hon's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Pascalo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hon just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Pascalo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pascalo jumps guard but Hon stands there with Pascalo around his waist. Pascalo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hon lands a shot to the body.

Hon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pascalo throws a combination that misses
and Hon counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pascalo is breathing heavily.

Pascalo misses with a double jab

and Hon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hon content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Hon lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Hon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Paulo Pascalo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pascalo gets tackled into the cage by Hon. Hon maintains the clinch.
Hon taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Hon digs a right hand into Pascalo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pascalo's gas tank.

Hon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pascalo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hon.
Hon tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pascalo is able to avoid easily.

Hon drops Pascalo with a beautiful combination! Pascalo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hon is looking for the KO!

It looks like Paulo Pascalo has been cut.

Hon clinches.
Hon lands a shoulder strike.

Hon pulls Pascalo into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hon has Pascalo pulled in close to control his posture.
Hon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pascalo is one step ahead there.

Hon has his hands on Pascalo's head, controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hon is on top in guard.


Hon stands up and waves to Pascalo to follow him.
Pascalo falls off balance throwing a combination

and Hon counters by clinching up.
Hon stalling against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Pascalo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hon lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Pascalo is looking to score with low kicks.
Pascalo looks to throw a body kick

and Hon counters by clinching up.
Hon lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Hon lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pascalo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Let's hope that Hon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hon is continuing to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The adventures of Hon the control monster continue. Boring.
Pascalo tries to buck Hon off but he can't manage it.
Hon controlling from mount.

Pascalo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pascalo is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Hon looking to control and managing it successfully.
Pascalo tries to hold on but Hon postures up.
Hon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Noa Hon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Pascalo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Pascalo throws a head kick but Hon moves out of range.
Hon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Hon checks the leg kick nicely there.
Some wild striking there from Pascalo.
Hon wants to counter the offense by Pascalo and move into the clinch position.
Pascalo connects with an inside leg kick.
Hon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Paulo Pascalo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hon has managed to clinch.
Hon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pascalo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Noa Hon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pascalo looks to throw a body kick
and Hon counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Hon tries for a takedown but Pascalo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hon lands a body shot.
No joy there for Hon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Pascalo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hon.
Pascalo slips a jab and a cross from Hon.

Hon drives through and clinches with Pascalo against the cage.

Hon breaks from the clinch.
Pascalo is looking to chop away at Hon's legs.
Hon unleashes a big counter combination but Pascalo bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Pascalo has been working on his balance at whitey's gym , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hon.
Hon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pascalo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hon tries to counter by closing the distance.

Pascalo misses with a jab to the body
and Hon counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pascalo throws a series of punches but Hon moves out of range.
Hon is looking for the big counter here.

Hon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hon slips a jab and a cross from Pascalo.
A shot to the liver by Hon. Beautiful body shot.

Hon has managed to clinch.
A shot in the inside from Hon.

Pascalo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hon circles away quickly and effectively.
Hon throws a right hand that Pascalo ducks under and follows up with a left that Pascalo also avoids with ease.
Hon swinging wildly here.
Hon throws a low kick but Pascalo moves out of range easily.

Pascalo gets tackled into the cage by Hon. Hon maintains the clinch.
Pascalo is trying to break the clinch but Hon is controlling him.
Hon cracks Pascalo with a nice body shot.

Hon manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Hon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Paulo Pascalo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hon pushes Pascalo up against the cage in a clinch.
Hon throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Paulo Pascalo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pascalo.
Noa Hon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hon avoiding damage as Pascalo throws knees to the body.

Noa Hon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
