Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yasha Fillipov (ranked 4479 p4p, 24267 weight class) and Chris Junkie (ranked 370 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Junkie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junkie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fillipov as he jumps to the side.
Junkie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fillipov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Fillipov counters with a shoot takedown. Junkie fights it but they end up in guard.
Fillipov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fillipov lands a couple of digs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Junkie wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Fillipov manages to pass to side control.

Junkie tries to kick Fillipov off but Fillipov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Fillipov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Junkie looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Junkie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fillipov defends it nicely.
Fillipov tries to counter with a takedown but Junkie is quick to defend against it.

Fillipov tries to keep at a distance but Junkie has taken the fight into the clinch.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Fillipov stops a takedown attempt from Junkie.
Yasha Fillipov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Junkie.
Junkie is looking for a takedown.

Fillipov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Junkie being controlled here, momentarily.
Fillipov won't allow Junkie to get back to his feet.
Fillipov passes into half guard.
Fillipov is controlling the pace.

Fillipov passes the guard and advances to mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Junkie is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Yasha Fillipov dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Junkie shoots for a takedown but Fillipov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Junkie tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Fillipov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Junkie's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fillipov working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Junkie turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Fillipov off and cradles Junkie's limp body as Fillipov celebrates with his corner.
