Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Power Shark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Emanuel Rodrigez!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez looks for a takedown but Shark sprawls well.
Rodrigez shoots for a takedown but Shark saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice body kick there by Shark.
Rodrigez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shark sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rodrigez somewhat.
Power Shark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emanuel Rodrigez.
Shark lunges at Rodrigez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rodrigez's hand.
Rodrigez misses with a two punch combination.
Rodrigez throws a nice looking combination but Shark bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Shark thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Rodrigez if he has to take too many more of those.

Rodrigez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shark pinned against the cage. Shark gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Shark throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Rodrigez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rodrigez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nice uppercut lands for Shark. That snapped Rodrigez's head back.
Shark misses with an attempted mid kick.
Power Shark is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rodrigez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rodrigez has his takedown stuffed

and Shark counters by moving into the clinch.
Rodrigez wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Shark's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A nice leg kick lands there from Shark.
Shark is looking to slow Rodrigez down with leg kicks.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shark throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Rodrigez clinches up with Shark and pushes him back against the cage.

Shark pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shark lands a head kick!

and Shark counters with a nice body kick.
Rodrigez tries for a takedown but Shark sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rodrigez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shark is not content to let Rodrigez control the position.

Rodrigez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shark defends it well.
Rodrigez is pressing down on Shark's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shark is holding on for now.

Rodrigez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rodrigez prevents Shark from standing back up.
Rodrigez is trying to control the action in half guard but Shark is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rodrigez connects with a nice short shot to Shark's temple.
Rodrigez tries to pass to full mount but Shark defends it.
Well, if Rodrigez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Let's hope that Rodrigez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rodrigez is keen to just control but Shark is a slippery customer.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shark is trying to stand back up but Rodrigez is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rodrigez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rodrigez tries to pull guard but Shark won't allow it.
Rodrigez jumps guard but Shark stands there with Rodrigez around his waist. Rodrigez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Power Shark dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Rodrigez.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Rodrigez wants to free his trapped foot but Shark is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Nice takedown defense from Shark. No joy for Rodrigez on that attempt.
Power Shark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emanuel Rodrigez.
Shark leaves Rodrigez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fighters circle momentarily. Shark darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Shark fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rodrigez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Whack! Shark lands a heavy head kick that drops Rodrigez. The ref tackles Shark to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rodrigez was done.
